Our Story

Founded in St. Louis, MO in 1987, Resource One quickly established a national presence as an important source across multiple lines of retail food products. Today, Resource One represents over 100 suppliers covering every major food category within grocery. Our vast professional expertise in this channel enables us to craft the custom approach necessary to successfully address the most complex challenges.
Our experienced sales and integrated services platforms combine to enhance efficiencies, and to improve our customers success rate. In the span of our 25+ years in operation, Resource One’s sales have grown to several hundred million dollars annually and our infrastructure has expanded to include satellite offices located in close proximity to our major customers in key markets. The reason for our continued success is simple: an uncompromising commitment to advocate on behalf of our

Ed Cuccio – CEO
Ed Cuccio is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Resource One and has over 45 years of sales and manage­ment experience, most of which have been in the grocery and retail industries. At 17 years old, Ed enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps, spending most of his enlistment overseas. He then relocated to New York and worked in various positions on Wall Street. Ed settled in the Midwest, beginning his career in sales in the dairy industry putting together cross dock milk
programs in the value channel with ALDI and SAL. In 1987, he started Resource One to capitalize on emerging op­portunities in the private label business. Through innovation, perseverance, and the values instilled in him by the Marines, he expanded the company into hundreds of product lines, with numerous manufacturers and retailers, and hundreds of mil­lions of dollars in sales. Ed is involved in a number of philanthropic initiatives and serves on the Board of Directors for the Harris House
Foundation as well as the Board of Directors for the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. Ed and his wife, Patty, are passionate about travel and have visited over 100 countries. Today, Ed continues to be a driving force of the company by providing leadership and the vision to grow sales and profits for the company and its customers. He is a living reminder that “it’s not about activity, it’s about results” and “it’s not over until it’s over and then it’s still not over.”
Kevin Holden – Managing Partner
Kevin joins Resource One with more than 20 years of experience in the food industry. He has held various senior level positions with several major CPG organizations including ConAgra, TreeHouse, Del Monte and Heinz where he had full strategic and financial accountability over Branded and Private Brand businesses with direct functional responsibility for sales, marketing, finance, customer service
and operations. His success in providing strategic direction and go-to-market execution with these organizations delivered consistent and sustainable top and bottom line growth. Prior to his tenure in the food industry, he worked in Corporate Finance for Mellon Bank where he participated in M&A work for the firm. Kevin holds an M.B.A. and B.A. from Duquesne University and Hobart College, respectively.
Michelle Rothermich – Senior Vice President of Managed Sales
Michelle comes to Resource One with a strong history in the food industry in both private label and traditional branded retail sales.  Her most recent position, Vice President of Channels and Proprietary Brands at Pinnacle Foods, included leading two successful teams across the dollar, club, mass/drug, domestic export, military, and private label channels. She has led multi-faceted,
high-performing teams and worked her way up through the organization from National Account Manager to Vice President. She has worked with a number of nationally-recognized brands such as Duncan Hines, Birds Eye, Armour, Blue Bunny, 3M, and Wishbone and has worked alongside, and for, food brokers as well. Prior to working for Pinnacle, Michelle worked at Aurora Foods, Resource One, Dunham & Smith, Integrated Marketing, and Eisenhart & Associates.
Bill Wolfe – Vice President of Business Development
In a career spanning over 30 years, Bill has served in various executive management positions with premier supermarket retailers, including Giant Eagle, Ahold USA, and Genuardi’s Family Markets. He joined Resource One in 2001 and serves in the St. Louis office as the company’s Chief Marketing Officer. His responsibilities include assisting manufacturers with
the development of innovative new private label products that meet the most challenging marketing criteria. He also provides private label consulting services to several major retailers in multiple trade classes, focusing on topics ranging from the development of premium tier products to strategies that fit the requirements of value conscious retailers. Specializing in marketing, merchandising and procurement, he has developed or managed several major private label programs, receiving two PLMA
(Private Label Manufacturers Association) “Salute to Excellence” awards for supermarkets and drug chains respectively. In addition to conducting topical seminars for various industry groups, Bill is a featured presenter at the PLMA Executive Education Series and at Supermarket College. He attended Gannon University, where he received a B.S. in Business Administration with a major in Management and attended graduate school.
Michael Klein – Vice President of R1 Integrated Services
Michael has over 30 years of consumer products and retail grocery experience in sales, management and as a merchandise buyer. He started his career with Service Merchandise where he spent five years gaining domestic and international experience as a Senior Buyer. He then worked nine years in a similar role at Venture Stores, Inc., where he further
developed a multi-perspective advantage from the Buyer’s side of the desk by understanding what merchants expect as well as anticipating and addressing potential issues in the manufacturer/retailer relationship. In 1998, Michael joined Resource One. In his 17 year tenure with the company, Michael has held important leadership roles in the organization, including responsibilities for all sales initiatives, customer relation management and financial budget accountability. Today,
Michael spearheads the Integrated Services division of Resource One that encompasses Customer Service and Accounting outsourcing, Label Procurement/ Management and Freight-Logistics platforms that are part of Resource One’s comprehensive service offerings to both our managed sales clients and retail customers. Michael graduated from the University of Florida, where he received a degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing.
Jenell Destine – Director of Marketing
Jenell has over 20 years of experience in the food industry. She began her career at Allen Foods, a regional food distributor located in St Louis and spent 15 years there working in Marketing. She held various positions at Allen Foods: Marketing Manager, Director of Marketing and Vice President of Marketing.
In 2002, Allen Foods was purchased by US Foodservice and Jenell remained there as their Vice President of Marketing for 3 years. Jenell moved to the retail side of the business when she joined Resource One in May 2011 as the Vendor Supplier Manager, responsible for onboarding new vendors into the Resource One sales process. She currently holds the position of Director of
Marketing at Resource One. She is responsible for vendor contract negotiations, all marketing aspects of the business and developing and maintaining vendor relationships. Jenell graduated from Southeast Missouri State with a B.A. in Public Relations/Marketing. She resides in St. Louis with her two children.
